3rd International Workshop on Bilevel Optimization – IWOBIP'24

January 22-26, 2024

Rancagua & Santa Cruz, Chile

The Institute of Complex Engineering Systems (ISCI) and the Universidad de O'Higgins invite you to the 3rd International Workshop on Bilevel Optimization (IWOBIP 2024) to be held at the Universidad de O'Higgins in Rancagua and the city of Santa Cruz, Chile, between January 22 and 26, 2024.

IWOBIP'24 aspires to bring together a group of academics, practitioners, and students working on bilevel optimization. It is also aimed at young researchers and graduate students (master's and Ph.D. students) who specialize in Bilevel Programming.

We hereby invite you to submit an abstract from now until the deadline, September 30, 2023.

Scope and Topics

Bilevel Programming is a branch of optimization that deals with programs whose constraints embed an auxiliary optimization problem. Bilevel programs are pervasive and are commonly found in several real-world problems. This includes problems in such areas as transportation, energy, economics, decision science, environmental economics, and machine learning.

The topics of interest of the IWOBIP'24 are theory, exact methods, heuristic algorithms, and interesting applications modeled as bilevel programming problems.

Structure

Two mini courses aimed at postgraduate students will be held on January 22 and 23:

  • Exploring Integer Programming to Solve Games with Multiple Leaders and Multiple Followers (M. Carvalho)
  • A Primer on Bilevel and Robust Optimization (M. Schmidt)

The workshop will take place from January 24 to January 26, 2024, and will include the attendance of three prestigious and world-renowned invited speakers. We also expect have at least twenty contributions.

Abstract submission

Presentations at the workshop will be selected based on abstracts (3000 characters). Interested authors should submit their abstracts electronically in plain text by September 30, 2023. Only a single presentation per speaker will be permitted. Multiple submissions involving the same authors are allowed, but authors will be asked to confirm speaker details at the decision stage.

The abstract submission platform can be found at the following link:
